Welcome to Dreadwood Games

Dreadwood Games is a hobbyist game studio, developing games since 2020. We work primarily in the CORE platform running on Unreal Engine and have released three games on CORE and have several others in progress. The community that CORE has fostered is one that we enjoy giving back to and we try to create and release community content often and help other developers when possible.

Mage's Gambit

April 5, 2021

This was our entry for the CORE invitational game jam. It is part deck builder part real time action strategy game. You build a deck of spell cards that you use to defeat your opponents or capture their relics. Check out the dedicated page and roadmap for this game, we'll be continuing to update it with new spells and abilities and starting seasonal rankings and offering card packs, card skins, map skins and other exciting perks.

Save the Holidays

This is our most recently released game and it was given an Achievement award in the Holiday Game jam run by Manticore. It features a progressive questline with idle resource management and exciting crafting mini games. This game was a collaboration with Teresa Ellayne.

Shrine of Unending Loss

October 31, 2020

This game was initially planned to be released as an entry for the Spooky Jam run by Manticore but unforeseen circumstances delayed it's release. We persevered and released it after the jam deadline. Collect and release the lost souls but beware, not all the spirits are benign. Our favorite comment about this game "This game is surprisingly intense lmao".

This is where it all started! Our very first game and game release for the Manticore run D&D Game Jam. Our main focus for this game was to set up an engaging class selection system and explore how the Core platform works.

About Us

Dreadwood Games is currently run by Andrew Squires and collaborates with other creators on CORE to produce games and community content. Andrew holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and is current Technical Program Manager. He has a passion for all things gaming and has found a strong love for all things coding from his work in robotics.
